Mantle - Academic

This Mantle represents a professional researcher/scholar who is able to call on the resources of an organisation like a university. With a little tweaking it can also be used for privately employed researchers or especially dedicated students. Academics main resource is “credibility” which powers several of their stunts. Spending credibility represents being distracted from their job/studies and risks them ending up suspended!

Credibility: [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]

Spend to power certain abilities. Recover 1 credibility between sessions. Doing favours for your fellows, raising your organisations profile or publishing in a journal may also recover credibility

Master of your Field:

Pick a discipline (for example History, Archaeology, Music, Physics, Chemistry, Economics). Gain +1 when using the Overcome Obstacle action or the Create Advantage action with that discipline

While in good standing with your organization you can spend credibility to request aid, equipment, access, or protection (either political or physical) from your organization. This aid takes the form of a minor NPC to help in a scene, free success at an overcome roll, or an advantage with two invokes. Now much credibility this costs depends on the request

Noted Expert:

You gain a special approach (Noted Expert) with a rating equal to your current credibility. This approach may only be used when attempting to leverage your position as an academic in order to accomplish a task (examples include presenting yourself as an expert to convince someone to give you access to a crimescene)

You may purchase stunts from the Medic Mantle
Cite your sources:

When you use Intellect to create an advantage based on your academic research, the aspect gains an additional invoke

You are well practiced at digging though libraries and testing theories. When carrying out research the time interval for your roles is significantly lower (what would take others days you can do in hours).

Photographic Memory:

Once per session you may automatically succeed at a task to know something. Though truly outlandish declarations may cost a fate point.
