MODERN DAY CASABLANCA OF THE SUPERNATURAL WORLD

Seattle has become the modern day Cassablanca of the supernatural world with a myriad of factions and individuals living side by side. It is a delicate balance that is enforced by Lord Montague who operates as the Chief of Police, Ronald Montgomery. He deals with threats mostly through subtle manipulations but is not afraid to use more direct means if necessary.

RAIN ON MY PARADE

It doesn’t truly rain in Seattle. It just drizzles. Constantly. Relentlessly. Without let up. The sky is a constantly shifting slate grey color with the sun remaining unseen for months at a time. This has a profound affect on many and contributes to the high suicide rate of the city. Its effect on the Supernatural cannot be underestimated either. Creatures that shun the life-giving aspects of the sun often find comfort in Seattle’s rainy streets and its citizen’s despairing hearts.

ENEMIES AT THE GATE

Many speculate that the veil between the NeverNever and Earth was weakened when Sawny Bean attempted to free The Leviathan. That Seattle has seen an increase in incidents of creatures crossing over from the NeverNever is not in doubt however. The city’s supernatural community suffered many losses in the titanic struggle against the Mad God’s minions. They are simply stretched too thin to protect Seattle from the predators that are swarming like sharks to blood.

THREAT:

UNBALANCED POWERS

The Pack has cleansed itself but lost much of its power, Dozer has left on a Vision Quest and divided loyalties threatens to tear the remaining members apart. Seattle PD Special Investigations has been effectively dissolved by Internal Affairs pending review. One Warden of the White Council has been left houseless and the other crippled. The Venatori Umbrorum’s local membership has been compromised. Reverend Charlie still hasn’t returned from Vietnam and the Tora Shagami Clan enforces the Emerald Conclave’s will from the shadows with Aaron Mercer taking firm hold of Lord Montague’s former holdings…

What’s worse, new powers are coming in to exploit the situation practically unopposed as the War between the Wizards and the Vampire Courts intensifies.

The Balance of Power has shifted… and no one is in a position to push back…

A HARBOR AGAINST THE COMING STORM

After the events of the Cauldron of Murder Seattle is no longer considered a safe harbor by anyone. In fact it has become considerably more dangerous since Sawney Bean and his cannibal thralls were defeated.

Many think Seattle a safe place to live especially when compared to the high crime rates found in other metropolitan areas. Much of this is a fabrication however. The police department and a corrupt city government often under report crime rates in the interest of keeping up the illusion that Seattle is crime free. Despite this violence is never far from the surface. This is most easily demonstrated in the powder keg that is West Seattle. Despite this the ongoing war between the White Council and the Red Court has had little impact in Seattle as LORD MONTAGUE has done a good job of bottling up any potential conflicts. Because of this both sides of the conflict have unofficially kept any clashes in the Seattle area low key making it a safe harbor of sorts.
