The Dragon Lady
Description:
ASPECTS
WESTERN SAINT OF SEATTLE
MOUNTAIN CRONE OF THE SUPERMARKET
I ALSO DEAL IN BLOOD AND POWER
Bio:
A Yama-uba of little known origin(at least to the locals), The Dragon Lady first appeared in the Seattle area when the first Japanese immigrants set up shop in the International District.
Some say that when the blood of Japan came to the region, she was born of the Mountains all around the region. Others say she was was summoned to protect the fledgling Japanese businesses in the area. Some people think she’s just a faerie riding her own reputation but no one dares ask her or test that theory.
Whatever her origin, the stories of what she is are often conflicting. Some stories paint her as a Demon who’s sole purpose in existence is to eat Women and Children. Some stories paint her as a loving mother. Some stories quote her as saying she is neither wholly good nor wholly evil.
Whatever the case maybe, The Dragon Lady has a solid reputation as one of the I-District’s Saints. She is friendly whenever she is in public. She often helps out at the big Grocery Store in the I-District as either an old woman in traditional garb or occasionally as a beautiful young woman to stock shelves. If you don’t bother her or her community, she won’t bother you.
Rumors say though that she exchanges Blood for Power. Supposedly the Yama-uba are skilled in the arts of sorcery, potions, and poisons. She sometimes trades this knowledge to human beings if they bring her a substitute victim to eat or satisfy some similarly wicked bargain.
Whatever the case, she is one of the Saints.
