MANTLE
SCION OF ODIN’S RAVENS (Supernatural Scale)
Your actions have Supernatural Scale when doing something that relates to their parent deity’s primal powers and when doing something in their name or with their blessing. The GM would determine what actions would fall under this mantle but in general they should not be simple mundane tasks that are purely a mortal concern (baking a cake, getting out of a parking ticket) but could include dangerous tasks (running across a busy freeway dodging oncoming cars) and doing something that exalts their parent’s divinity (sculpting a statue of their deity).
UNIQUE CONDITIONS:
Divine Power (sticky): [ ][ ][ ][ ][ ]
You have the power of the Gods running through your veins. Mark a box when using certain stunts provided by this mantle. Mark 3 boxes to have a friendly NPC connected to your God appear and offer aid or information. Once per scenario, you may mark all 5 boxes to operate at Otherworldly Scale for a scene. Recover one box at the conclusion of any scene in which you do not mark a box. Recover two boxes at the start of a new session.
Divine Responsibility (sticky): [ ]
Mark this condition when you act against your God’s wishes or best interests. You may not any boxes of Divine Power (but retain your Scale) until you recover from this Condition. Recover from this condition by spending a scene communing with your divine relation.
Unwanted Attention (sticky): [ x ]
Mark this condition when you are seen in public performing feats well beyond human norms or otherwise causing mass chaos. As long as this Condition is marked, you are at risk of being recognized and hunted. You gain an aspect related the chaos you caused and the GM gets one free invoke. Recover this condition after spending a scene dealing with your “Unwanted Attention”, be it a physical conflict or a social encounter.
CORE STUNTS:
Beast Form (Raven):
Once per session, you may mark a box of Divine Power and transform into the form of the animal which is most closely associated with you Divinity. You gain the Aspect “Raven Form” and may switch the value of any two Approaches. You lose access to stunts that are not about physical prowess. You may gain new Scale on actions that benefit from your new form. You are limited in movement and communication by your animal’s form (fish cannot operate on land, bears cannot go into small spaces, etc). Switching from Human to Beast or back takes one action.
Seeker of the Arcane:
Once per session, you may ask the GM for a pertinent fact about an item you seek, without having to research it. If information on the article in question is hidden, lost, or obscured by the supernatural you may roll your highest approach against appropriate opposition determined by the GM to gain a useful fact. The GM may also grant you an advantage with a free invoke.
Right Man For The Job:
Choose one approach. Gain +2 to all actions taken with that approach that are related to being a Librarian.
ADDITIONAL STUNTS
Wisdom of Urd:
Odin gave an eye for cosmic knowledge, and you may check a box of Divine Power to add +1 on any action requiring a display of knowledge or when solving mysteries.
Bio:
BACKGROUND
Adrian grew up in a small Alaskan town (Palmer) with his potato farmer parents. A shy, nerdish child, he has no idea that he is a direct descendant of Hugin, one of Odin’s Ravens.
His heritage as a child of Thought and Memory gives him an insatiable curiosity for knowledge and a near eidetic memory. He is constantly reading books, editing Wikipedia, addicted to TV-Tropes and an avid fan of all other sorts of information.
After High School, he received a scholarship to attend the University of Washington. He graduated with a degree in Library Sciences and currently works in the Archives of the University Libraries.
Ever since he discovered his shifter nature as a teen, he has done his best to suppress that part of his personality. Early on, this would lead to sessions of “sleep-shifting” where he would wake, naked, out in the Alaskan woods. Now an adult, he has learned to better control this problem, but he still wishes he didn’t have to deal with it at all.
In pursuit of this he has begun secretly researching the paranormal and supernatural, attempting to find a cure for himself or a technique that will grant him better control.
THE STORY
“An Unkind Conspiracy”
Guest Starring: Sal Delgado
When a rare book of potential supernatural power is stolen, Wereraven Adrian Huggins must recover it before he loses his job and is exposed for what he truly is. But will Adrian succeed when he is up against a cabal of fellow were-creatures? Also, why does the Monoc Corporation seem so interested in the career of a simple college Librarian?
